Boulder Associates is a nationally recognized architecture firm and are leaders in sustainable design. In October of 2004, Faurot Construction was contacted by Boulder Associates to partner with them in creating their new headquarters and office. Their preferred site was a historic building on Pearl St. Mall in the heart of Downtown Boulder. This would pose many challenges to the design and construction teams. The building was also to be LEED certified. Staging, debris removal, and logistics were particularly difficult on the project due to the proximity of Pearl St. Mall. Materials from demolition that were meant for recycling had to be stored on site until completely sorted for transport for recycling. The project was completed on time while meeting all LEED goals and criteria resulting in a sustainable site, healthy building, and energy efficiency. A subsequent second phase was completed of the second floor a year later and also achieved LEED Gold Certification.
